After the opening of the enrollments last Monday (02/01/2012 at 12h21!), the first BOOTCAMP sold out amazingly quick! Khalida and I really think it’s fantastic everything went so fast, and to accomodate your big enthusiasm, we have decided to organise a second BOOTCAMP!

Bootcamp II will also take place in Würselen, on 19-20-21-22 July. Our guest teacher will be Amirah, Tribal Fusion Bellydancer of the World 2010!

The waiting list is still open for the first BOOTCAMP on 5-6-7-8 July, with ballet teacher Constanze Janssen as our guest teacher, so if you prefer this edition, don’t hesitate to sign up!

Queenie won afgelopen zaterdag de eerste prijs in de prestigieuze internationale “Bellydancer of the World” competitie, georganiseerd door Leyla Jouvana in Duisburg, Duitsland.

Van de 115 deelnemers uit meer dan 20 verschillende landen, namen er 18 deel aan de hoofdcategorie: Classical Oriental Female Soloist.

Na haar recente benoeming tot “Rising Star 2011” in Engeland, zette ze de kroon op het werk door een van de meest begeerde titels in de buikdanswereld te behalen.

Komende zaterdag zal ze optreden in de galashow die het 19de Oriëntaals Festival in Duisburg afsluit.

Last Saturday, Queenie won the first prize at the 5th prestiguous international “Bellydancer of the World” contest, organized by Leyla Jouvana in Duisburg, Germany.

Of the 115 contestants coming from over 20 different countries, 18 took part in the main category: Classic Oriental Female Soloist.

After her recent denomination of “Rising Star 2011” in England, Queenie was able to top it off by grabbing one of the most coveted titles in the bellydance world.

This coming Saturday, she will perform at the Gala closing this 19th Oriental Festival in Duisburg.

Queenie behaalde afgelopen weekend de derde plaats in de wedstrijd van het Shimmy in the City-festival in Londen! Uit 25 deelneemsters vond de jury (Asmahan, Tito, Khaled Mahmoud) haar klassieke Orientaalse choreografie een mooie podiumplaats waard!Queenie made it to the finals in the competition at the Shimmy in the City festival in London this past weekend! Out of 25 contestants, the jury (Asmahan, Tito, Khaled Mahmoud) awarded her classical Oriental choreography with the third place!

The end of May, Queenie performed with her students in The Art Factory’s annual live show, with raving reviews! More pictures coming soon!

Eind mei trad Queenie samen met haar leerlingen op in de jaarlijkse liveshow van The Art Factory in Roeselare. De reacties waren zeer enthousiast! Meer fotootjes volgen binnenkort!

Na vijf jaar buikdansles bij Queenie nam Lies uit Roeselare afgelopen weekend deel aan de buikdanswedstrijd voor leerlingen op het Stars of Bellydance-festival in Oostkamp, onder de artiestennaam Ileana. Haar eerste optreden ooit, en al meteen een daverend succes: ze won de eerste prijs, met lovende kritieken van de internationale jury.

Lies heeft lang naar de dansstijl gezocht die haar echt lag. Toen ze kennis maakte met buikdans, wist ze dat dat het was. Ze houdt van de muziek, de kostuums, de glamour, het feit dat buikdans vrouwelijk en elegant kan zijn, maar ook sterk en passioneel.

De prijs kwam onverwacht voor haar. Ze dacht dat ze geen schijn van kans maakte toen ze de andere, meer ervaren deelneemsters zag. Daardoor was ze echter veel minder zenuwachtig en besloot ze er gewoon het beste van te maken. Als ze terugdenkt aan het moment waarop haar naam viel als overwinnaar, krijgt ze nog steeds een krop in de keel.

In het dagelijkse leven studeert Lies in Brugge. Buikdansen, zwemmen en chiro zijn haar voornaamste hobby’s.
Op buikdansvlak wil ze les blijven volgen bij Queenie en wil ze vooral blijven leren. Ze heeft echter de smaak te pakken en verlangt al naar een volgend buikdans-avontuur!

Afgelopen weekend nam Queenie deel aan een internationale buikdanswedstrijd.

Van de in totaal 20 kandidaten uit verschillende landen, werd ze bekroond met de Rising Star Award op Jewel of Yorkshire, een populair buikdansfestival dat plaats vindt in de buurt van Leeds, Engeland.

De internationale jury, waaronder de gerenommeerde docenten uit Egypte, Khaled Mahmoud en Yasmina, waren vooral onder de indruk van haar opvallende verschijning, elegante uitstraling, danstechniek en muzikaliteit.

This past weekend, Queenie participated in the international Jewel of Yorkshire bellydance competition, part of a three day festival in the Leeds area, UK.

Out of the 20 contestants in total, she won the Rising Star Award!

The jury, among which Khaled Mahmoud and Yasmina of Cairo, were impressed by her striking appearance, elegant flair, dance technique and musicality.
